What is CELTA Online?



It’s the usual face-to-face CELTA Course but 100% adapted to an online platform.


Why CELTA Online?




Adapting to different times and situations.



Due to the current outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), Cambridge is ensuring trainee’s health and safety is paramount (along with schools and teachers). This is why for a limited period of time, Cambridge English Language Assessment will be allowing trainees to take the CELTA to it’s full extent completely online.


Where and When?


Where will the course take place?



  • The Irish Academy  in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria – Spain, is now accepting trainees for our 100% online CELTA programmes; this means that you will be taking the course from the comfort of your own house.

    We will be the ones in charge of supplying you with all the required materials, timetables, lessons, tasks,etc. via our designated platform.


When will it take place?



  •  The Full Time Courses (4 weeks) will be taking place from February the 1st to the 26th, from April the 5th to the 30th, from July the 5th to the 30th, from August the 2nd to the 27th and from October the 4th to October the 29th, 2021 ( 100% online – 1200 € ). Future CELTA 100% Online Courses will depend on the current state of the outbreak.


  • The Part Time Courses (12 weeks) will be taking place from March the 13th to June the 5th and from September the 25th to December the 18th, 2021.


Full time courses 2021 (4 weeks)


  • February 1st – February 26th ( 100% online – 1200 € )

  • April 5th – April 30th ( 100% online – 1200 € )

  • July 5th – July 30th ( 100% online – 1200 € )

  • August 2nd – August 27th ( 100% online – 1200 € )

  • October 4th – October 29th ( 100% online – 1200 € )


Part time courses 2021 (12 weeks)


  • March 13th – June 5th ( 100% online – 1200 € )

  • September 25th – December 18th ( 100% online – 1200 € )


What's a typical CELTA 100% Online day like?





The typical CELTA day starts in the morning and finishes early in the afternoon, and it includes an hour for lunch and a coffee break.


Example of a daily timetable:


 





  • 09:30 – 12:45:

    • Observations of experienced teachers

    • One or two teaching practices a week at two distinctive levels (9:30-11:30)

    • Tutor-led feedback session on the lessons taught (12:00 – 12:45)

    • In three occasions, setting up written assignments (with rubrics and successfully completed past samples)



  • 12:45 – 13:45: Lunch.

  • 13:45 – 14:30: Guided lesson planning with tutors.

  • 14:30 – 14:45: Break.

  • 14:45 – 16:45:  Dynamic and practical input sessions.






Fees


Due to this exceptional circumstances, the course fee is only 1.200€ for a limited period of time.
