DELTA 100% Online FAQs

DELTA 100% Online FAQs

What level is Delta?

The office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) has determined that DELTA is a Level 7 qualification, which is at the same level as a Master’s degree. Some institutions accept DELTA credits towards MA modules.

What are the benefits of an online format?

  • 24/7 access to the online materials giving you the flexibility to plan your CELTA work around your other professional and personal commitments
  • No accommodation and travel costs

How does the online format work?

Your tutors will send you a Zoom link to join all teaching practices, feedback, consultation and input sessions.

What equipment do I need?

  • Desk top or laptop (The course will not run on tablets, iPads or mobile phones)
  • A reliable internet connection
  • Head/Earphones with a built-in microphone

Do I need to complete Modules 1 and/or 3 before entering Module 2?

No. You can take the 3 modules in any order you like.

Is DELTA designed to work with adult learners only?

No. It incorporates a variety of teaching contexts like Young Learners, Business English, ESP. The students that you will have in your teaching practices, however, will be adults.

How and when do I get my certificate?

Certificates are issued approximately 6 weeks after you receive your statement of results. These can be Distinction, Pass or Fail. Certificates are sent to the training centre and we will send you your certificate directly. You receive a certificate for each module and yu can ask for an over-arching certificate after completion of all 3 modules.

All Cambridge certificates, regardless of face-to-face, online or blended modes, are the same and the course format is not part of the certificate.

What’s the pass rate and what happens if I fail anything?

For Module 2, this is around 80%. You can fail 1 internally assessed lesson and still pass the module. If you fail the externally assessed lesson, there is also a referral process and this means that you can re-try on two occasions within a one-year period following the issue of results. If you do not pass on one of these two occasions, you will need to re-take a course.

What are the job prospects after being DELTA qualified?

After completing Module 2 you may like to:

  • Access DoS, ADoS, Senior Teacher positions
  • Develop in-service training for teachers

After completing all 3 modules you might also like to consider, for example, Teacher Training, Materials Development or Curriculum Development.
